Lloyd initially had faced a string of drug charges. Johnson says all but the cocaine possession charge were dropped in exchange for Loyd’s plea. Loyd was arrested after workers saw him rolling in mud and acting like a dog. Loyd had ingested so much mud that he started throwing up mud when he was jailed. According to the authorities police were responding to a call at an apartment complex when a 26-year-old man approached their patrol car and "began to torment" their police dog. The barking man was arrested for disorderly conduct and later released on bond.

Minnick pitched himself last year as “a fierce believer in limited government fiscal responsibility and effective representation” a message that he was able to use to sway just enough Republican-libertarian voters to eke out a win against one-term Bill Sali. Minnick joined the Blue Dogs though notably he hasn’t joined his brethren in folding on spending and regulation. Minnick was one of 11 House Democrats to vote against the $787 billion stimulus. He objected to his party’s 2010 budget resolution. Last month he joined 43 Democrats who defected on the climate bill.

That is because the conservative Democrats about 52 of them are raising serious questions about the proposal by President Barack bama and House liberals. Relevant reasonable objections have been raised by the “Blue Dogs. ” They worry about the massive tax increase that will be needed to fund the proposed health care overhaul. They are concerned about whether the bama plan actually will do any good to control health care costs.
