n a day like this when traces of E. coli bacteria made swimming at Montrose Beach a permissible but dicey proposition Fischer would be lucky to get his feet wet. The family dogs though were a different story. Bodie a great Dane and Ty a boxer romped through the water joining dozens of other dogs at Montrose. It had been a long winter and a dismal spring and even though his dogs sometimes returned from a day at the beach with intestinal distress Addington 34 a landscape designer decided to let them play. “We’ve been dying to spend as much time outside as possible” he said. “These guys have been cooped up all winter.

True to her terrier breed Zoey also digs in the sand and chases squirrels. But what can we say: This dog loves to surf! Riding the waves in tandem with Chandler and his daughter Zoey does it all. This week she won first place at the Loews Coronado Dog Surf Contest in San Diego. About 1000 people attended the event despite the fact that it was cold and drizzling (after all this is California ? 65 degrees is freezing!). And I have to say it was one of the nicest crowds I have ever encountered at any event. No one was rowdy drinking too much or obnoxious.

Nothing humiliates like a toilet left unrepaired for five months.
