Police shot and killed the dog after it charged them on May 28. The officers had to scramble to safety on top of squad cars andbehind a grill. Police were called to the neighborhood on a report of a dispute. The caller said a dog tried to bite a woman but she escaped.

Anderson Cancer Center patients who turned out to help celebrate the unveiling of the newest Children’s Art Project products — a flag-inspired canine bandanna and a series of blown-glass Christmas ornaments featuring dogs wearing the accessory. The dog was none other than Stump the Houston spaniel who claimed top honors at this year’s Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Tagging along were J. the Houston bichon frise who won Best in Show at Westminster eight years ago and staffers from the Kennel at Champions. Stump was chosen to model the new bandanna in part because of his heart-lifting life story said hospital spokeswoman Sara Farris.

Sterling Honoray Bates 35 pleaded guilty to causing a dog to fight on Aug. The match occurred in the 6000 block of Milwee. The fight for which Bates was arrested went on for more than an hour and injured both animals said Belinda Smith an assistant district attorney in the animal cruelty section of the district attorney’s office.

A dog owner got a big surprise while playing fetch with her dog after the pooch brought her. Police called a munitions expert to identify and defuse the grenade.
Postal carriers rescue man dog from smoke-filled Westland home

Carrier Sharon Roulo spotted the smoke as she delivered mail about 10:30 a. She called 911 and carrier Lori Boljesic who was delivering nearby and they were able to force open the resident’s bedroom window. The man and a dog escaped through the window but another dog died in the fire. getElementById(”article-pagination”).
