It’s all an accident: we had one dog a Boston terrier (a female) and then in August we fostered an elderly dog another terrier to save her from being put to sleep and then somehow in ctober she had puppies just two small-size no bigger than teeny baby mice when they were born — the three of them fit in a little box from FreshDirect. And it was so sweet how this dog from the streets who’d been through hell was able to have her puppies in a nice home and not in a shelter. … Well if she’d stayed in the shelter she wouldn’t have had them because they were going to put her down. But now here she was getting to be their mother and to take care of them.

The Manteca City Council ultimately will decide whether the dog park becomes a reality but the city’s Recreation and Parks Commission — which advises the council — voted 5-0 Thursday night to move the proposed dog park forward. Several valley cities have dog parks including Tracy and Lathrop and some Manteca dog owners said they take their dogs to them. An estimated 17000 to 20000 dogs live in Manteca. The preliminary plan calls for the dog park to be built at Woodward Community Park 710 E.

This new breed of wedding guest has created a niche industry that caters to Fido’s appearance on his owner’s big day. “It’s a shift in the way people view pets” says Brian Iannessa a spokesman for Veterinary Pet Insurance explaining the trend behind canine participants in weddings. “People are incorporating pets into their lives more than ever before taking them on trips celebrating their pets’ birthdays. ” Forty-two percent of the insurance company’s clients had or plan to have their pets participate in their wedding according to a recent poll of 3000 pet owners.
