(AP) — The Humane Society of Missouri says it rescued more than 150 dogs and a Bengal tiger from a substandard dog breeder near Seneca. The group says the rescue Thursday with the Newton County Sheriff’s department was its second major puppy mill raid in less than a week. It says the dogs’ cages were covered with waste and they had no food or water. About 30 puppies and four pregnant canines were among the dogs taken to St. Louis for treatment pending a custody hearing March 9.

com Sadie a 6-year-old German Shepherd mix went for a grooming appointment at PetSmart in Southlake on Saturday but she took off out the front door before her owner returned. Libby Lostetter and several friends have spent the last five days scouring the area near the store on South Village Center Drive in hopes of finding her dog. The dog was spotted twice on Highland Street in Southlake but each time she slipped away. "I’m doing anything and everything I can think of" said Lostetter 30 an Irving teacher. "She’s basically like my child. " Jessica White a PetSmart spokeswoman said store employees are doing everything they can to help.

She filed a lawsuit claiming her rights were violated understate and federal civil rights laws but a Polk County juryrejected her claims on Wednesday. The department argued at trial that training without assistanceof a guide-dog is the best approach for people learning to dealwith blindness.
