But you work long hours and you can’t imagine your boss thinking it’s a good idea for you to go home every five minutes because li’l Rover might need to go out. Here’s the essential question you need answered: How long can you leave a dog at home alone?Loralei Zwitt owner of My Dog and Me canine activity center in the Heights says the answer depends on the dog. Most well-adjusted adult dogs can stay home by themselves eight to 10 hours a day. Puppies however are another matter. Zwitt says a pup can stay alone for an hour for every month in age plus one.

The annual exhibit begun in 2006 and intended to promote tourism along the canyon railway popular with travelers has previously featured dog sculptures dressed as policemen cowboys and firefighters. This year they wore colorful Tarahumara dress in a bid to promote the group’s way of life Avalos said.

Help for Dogs in BasementSHERIFF RD. NE 5000 block March 9. Two dogs were found confined in the basement of an apartment building that was being renovated. A mastiff and a pit bull were in separate rooms filled with urine and feces and without water or food. Both dogs were underweight and the pit bull was chained. A Humane Society officer spoke to the caretaker of the dogs who lived in the basement of the same building and who said the animals belonged to the building owner. A notice was left to take both animals to a veterinarian and to clean the dogs’ areas… Two dogs were found confined in the basement of an apartment building that was being renovated. The owner decided to surrender the pit bull and keep the mastiff with the agreement to take the dog to a veterinarian.
